Enter our Heritage wallpaper collection from Sweden. 'Varmland' a wallpaper frieze. This border is based on an original at Varmlands Saby manor in the parish of Visnum in Varmland. Wide borders were a new element in interior design at the turn of the twentieth century.
Wide borders were added in the late nineteenth century. Adding a wide border to a single colour wall became common and was considered tasteful. The original of the wallpaper border Varmlands Saby has a rare, skilled drawn pattern and is a good example of a popular type of design with motifs from the plant world introduced at that time.
